Scheduled Maintenance

Factory service intervals done right. Tune-ups, filters, timing belt, coolant flush, transmission service, and everything your manufacturer recommends to keep your vehicle running reliably for the long haul.

What We Do

Staying on top of your vehicle's maintenance schedule is the single most effective thing you can do to prevent expensive repairs and extend the life of your vehicle. Skipped services accumulate and the resulting damage is almost always more costly than the maintenance itself.

We follow manufacturer-recommended service intervals for your specific vehicle and engine. Whether you are catching up on deferred maintenance or staying current, we tell you honestly what is due and what can wait, without padding the service list.

Not sure what your car is due for? Call us with your vehicle's year, make, model, and mileage and we can walk you through it before you even schedule an appointment.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is scheduled maintenance and why does it matter?

Scheduled maintenance is the service your vehicle manufacturer recommends at specific mileage or time intervals to keep your vehicle running reliably and efficiently. Following the maintenance schedule prevents failures by replacing components before they wear out completely, maintains fuel economy, and protects the longevity of major systems like the engine and transmission.

How do I know what maintenance my vehicle is due for?

The best source is your owner's manual, which includes a maintenance schedule specific to your vehicle's engine and transmission. Many modern vehicles also display a maintenance reminder on the instrument cluster. Bring your vehicle in and we can review your mileage, service history, and the manufacturer schedule to tell you exactly what is due or overdue.

When should spark plugs be replaced?

Conventional copper spark plugs typically need replacement every 30,000 miles. Iridium and platinum plugs used in most modern vehicles can last 60,000 to 100,000 miles. Worn spark plugs cause misfires, rough idle, poor fuel economy, and hard starting. If your vehicle has not had spark plugs replaced in over 60,000 miles, they are worth inspecting.

What happens if I skip a timing belt replacement?

A timing belt that breaks while the engine is running can cause catastrophic engine damage on interference-design engines, where the pistons and valves occupy the same space at different points in the cycle. The repair cost for a broken timing belt is many times higher than replacing it on schedule. Most manufacturers recommend replacement between 60,000 and 105,000 miles depending on the engine.

How often should transmission fluid be changed?

Most manufacturers recommend transmission fluid service every 30,000 to 60,000 miles for vehicles that see towing, severe duty, or a lot of stop-and-go traffic. Some manufacturers claim lifetime fluid, but in practice, fluid degrades over time and heat cycles. Degraded transmission fluid is one of the leading causes of premature transmission failure.

Does maintenance at an independent shop affect my vehicle's coverage from the manufacturer?

No. Federal law in the United States prohibits manufacturers from requiring service at a dealership as a condition of coverage, provided the service is performed correctly with appropriate parts. We follow manufacturer-specified procedures and use quality parts that meet or exceed OEM specifications. Keep your service records to document that maintenance was performed.
