Conventional copper spark plugs typically need replacement every 30,000 miles. Iridium and platinum plugs used in most modern vehicles can last 60,000 to 100,000 miles. Worn spark plugs cause misfires, rough idle, poor fuel economy, and hard starting. If your vehicle has not had spark plugs replaced in over 60,000 miles, they are worth inspecting.
What happens if I skip a timing belt replacement?
A timing belt that breaks while the engine is running can cause catastrophic engine damage on interference-design engines, where the pistons and valves occupy the same space at different points in the cycle. The repair cost for a broken timing belt is many times higher than replacing it on schedule. Most manufacturers recommend replacement between 60,000 and 105,000 miles depending on the engine.
How often should transmission fluid be changed?
